Freak Show

So I wasn't blessed with the "glamour gal" looks, nor was I flogged with the "ugly stick" either. At least I don't think so! (Well, you've seen my profile photo)

Since about the age of 13 my face and limbs have been ravaged by bouts of eczema.

None quite so bad as this.

The last time I had a 'flare-up' that required medical intervention (good dose of strong steroid based hydro-cortisone cream/ointment) was over nine years ago.

Years of studies from all corners of the Globe have revealed this.....um.... Nothing...... Researchers cannot pinpoint what triggers Eczema, especially late onset Eczema.

What is one to do! Apart from signing up with the local circus, or locking herself away until she takes on a human-like appearance again.

I know in the big scheme of things this is but a drop in the ocean, but after 7 months that saying wears a little thin at times. (Just like my skin, with years of use of steroid based creams etc)

I know of but one personal cure, it involves getting pregnant. (Why haven't researchers discovered the hormones that are responsible for this, then synthesise them. Gees, it'd kill two birds with one stone - no eczema and contraception, to boot)

With the millions of dollars I have spent on creams, lotions, potions, pills, massages, diet changes and allergy tests etc I have had some success with an Australian made lavender and calendular based cream - completely natural with no nasties inside.

If you suffer, or have suffered eczema and have had huge success with a treatment post a comment or drop me a line, Id love to hear from you.

Holland to New Holland - Blog/Vlog

I have a Video Blog otherwise known as Vlog which I provide Travel Tips and Must Have Products for Parents/Guardians who travel either locally or internationally with their Baby and or Toddler! (Yeh, it sounds pretty run of the mill, but one things for sure, I wont be telling you how many nappies/diapers to pack!)

Each episode is delivered via a different location from around the world each week! Now, I say each week as that was my intention!

Good intentions of course...can fall apart, and they have done just that!
My First setback was returning to my homeland - Australia in October 2009 (oh gawwwd, Ive only been gone a year, I make it sound a lifetime!) Then leaving my makeshift microphone (iPhone earbuds with builtin mic) back in Holland and recording alot alot of crap video (the type they show on TV when interviewing witnesses or crims that can't or don't wast their faces shown). Anyway, this episode was compiled to thank my friends and family back in Australia.

My second setback ....... coming soon! (See Freak Show)

Cheers and thanks for taking the time to have a look around. Please dont hesitate to comment and leave me your link to your blog!

Virgin - and why it took so long!

I have been delaying this moment for sometime. I even plucked up the courage and put my first time on YouTube...

Ok - so I sucked at it, and still do! Performing in front of a camera is hard and even harder for your first time! I have been assured that with practice, I will improve. (I can't wait for that)

I guess the main thing that concerns me is not so much being in front of the camera, but the onlookers and passers-by as I record.

There is so much to learn about blogging (smile - I know what you where thinking), and I am seriously trying to avoid blogging for the sake of blogging and like most people want to keep it interesting.

I know I have some seriously interesting stuff tucked away in this head, ie Life, Vet Nurse, Police Officer, Flight Attendant, Expat, Mother, Entrepreneur bla bla bla, but its a case of constructing it verbally for the video blog or on-paper for the written blog!

So here goes, Im about to press the button now and lose my written blogging virginity...
